Collector's Office
-
Welcome to the Moniteau County Collector's homepage. The Collector's office is located on the main level of the Moniteau County Courthouse. Using the south entrance, we are the first office on the left.
Duties of the Collector
-
The Collector of Revenue is charged with the duties of collecting the taxes due, as shown on the Assessor's records, and then distributes the funds monthly to the various taxing entities. The Collector's Office prepares tax statements for Personal Property and Real Estate, provides Merchant Licenses to businesses, and conducts the delinquent tax sale in August.
Office Information
- Personal and Real Estate tax statements are mailed in early November each year. If you do not receive your statement by the end of November, please contact our office immediately.
- Please inspect your statements to verify that the mailing address, vehicles, and legal description are correct.
- All tax statements are due upon receipt and become delinquent after December 31st.
- Failure to receive a statement does not relieve the taxpayer's obligation to pay taxes and any penalty and interest that may apply.
- Payments can be made in person, by telephone, by mail, or online at this website. Payments may be made with cash, personal check, e-check, money order, or credit card.
